Mission

The mission of ALGNV is to develop a sustainable and profitable market for NGVs throughout Latin America, proposing and stimulating a favorable political and economic environment that encourages the development of NGV technology, new NGV products and components, as well as an overall fueling structure.

ALGNV provides both a leadership role within the growing NGV industry, but also serves its members to ensure their needs for market development, technology growth, and natural gas refueling needs.

The ALGNV is a regional entity, and as such their key focus is to support the national similar associations in the region

Activities and Services

The activities of the ALGNV as described below, separated by five different programs:

1. Collecting and distribute data and information related to the use of natural gas vehicles;
2. Organizing conferences, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, training programs, technical meetings for the NGV industry;
3. Encouraging the cooperation of engine and vehicle manufacturers to facilitate both the conversion of new vehicles and the introduction of factory-made natural gas vehicles;
4. To promote the harmonization of standards and codes all over Latin America;
5. To identify R&D needs and facilitate cooperative arrangements to execute the necessary projects.

Publications

ALGNV will be periodically publishing a free electronic newsletter, “GNV Latin America” with links to the main web site www.algnv.org. The newsletter will transmit the latest news about the regional NGV markets, and summaries of global NGV news from all over the world.

Monthly, the ALGNV will collect and publish the statistics of the NGV market in Latin America, to support strategic marketing plans and analysis on the development of the industry, in support to financial plans.

From time to time, the ALGNV will provide information on papers of importance to the industry. And details on standards, regulations and related documentation, relatively to revisions, comments, etc., as available from the key standards and regulations entities of the region as also as the global institutions.

Membership in the ALGNV is the best way to maintain access to the progress and development of the GNV, specifically in Latin America, and also in other parts of the world. ALGNV membership will keep your company aware of the products and services offered by suppliers in this field. The ALGNV membership is also important for another reason, as it provides a forum in which members can present their position on the direction of technology and market development. As also as request support from other associated members. That same forum is readily available to help develop a common international solution to problems which will be beyond the resources and capabilities of individual members to solve.

Membership in the ALGNV includes not only a subscription of the association electronic newsletter, but also discounts in the ALGNV organized events, such as congresses, exhibitions, workshops and training programs, as also as discounts in other events supported by ALGNV. In additional to this, the members will also have the opportunity to contribute to international issues in various forums, such as conferences, seminars, questionnaires and committee meetings (see Benefits and Services to Associated Members).

The ALGNV Organization

The ALGNV is directed by an international Executive Council. Membership of the Council comprises a representative from each national association member and from each country without a national association or key GNV national industry representatives.
All ALGNV members are encouraged to attend the Council meetings. The president and other directors are elected by the Council for a two-year term. The Executive Committee is formed by a President, a Vice-President, a Treasurer and a Secretary. The Committee is responsible for the management of the ALGNV during its two year term.

Under the Vice-President, there are some two committees: one responsible for technical issues and the other on marketing aspects of the business in the Latin America.

The focus of the ALGNV is to promote the GNV in the region, giving full support to national associations, contributing to the development of these entities and supporting them with a liaison to international organizations.

Membership Contributions

Annual membership fees which vary in accordance with the type of membership are shown on the application form, available in the website. Fees are for the calendar year.

As contribuições requeridas dos associados da ALGNV são anuais, e variam de acordo com o tipo, características do associado e do mercado em que atua. Essas contribuições se encontram nas tabelas com o título de “Associados e Contribuições”, que faz parte desse “website”, como também os formulários requeridos para a associação. As contribuições são anuais e válidas para o ano calendário em que são feitas.
